...hoof-fingers grasping at any surface available, she could almost imagine that there was a small glimmer of light ahead. The end of the nightmarish tunnel just had to be nearby. Edges and half-real forms slid by her on every side, bumping harshly into limb and muscle, and yet seemed to disappear when she tried to use them for leverage. Her own breath rasped harshly in her furred ears as frustration and exhaustion wore on her mind. As much progress as they were making to claw their way through the warping tunnel, it just didn't seem to be enough. Suddenly, her hoof slipped yet again, sending her sliding back rapidly, being sucked away from her goal until she managed to dig her hooves and joints into the tunnel wall. Jarring to a halt, her elbows and knees torn open from the effort, she heaved a shaky breath and called out into the darkness with her mind.

"I can't do it! I can't go any further! Please, get me out of here!"

Something met her then, a furred shoulder shoving up against her from behind. It was Teg, and he was determined to push her forward. Dislodging her from were she had wedged herself between the undulating tunnel walls, he pushed her forward with a grunt. Immediately, she could feel the rumble of his voice in her mind.

"No. You can make it. So get moving before we both start sliding again. We're almost there!"

He had been right. The exit had been been very close. Just a few more minutes of desperate fighting through the tunnel, and they went tumbling abruptly out the other side. Gasping and shaking, she and Teg found themselves crumpled on the floor of a foreign tent, looking up into the tattooed faces of the mystics. Every bone and injury ached, and portal-dust coated their fur from the dangerous tunnel...but they had made it.
